Cossa is ready for a New Chance with Utah

For the past four years, Cossa, who was recently rated the Red Wings number one by Scott Wheeler of The Athletic, played in the American Hockey League for the Grand Rapids Griffins. In 123 regular season games played, he has a .911 save percentage, 2.46 goals against average, and eight shutouts. In the 2025-26 season, he recorded his best performance to date. He had a 2.33 goals against average, a .915 save percentage, and five shutouts in 39 regular season contests. Cossa is driven to enter the Mammoth organization and deliver his best effort every day.

“I’m going to come to the rink every day and work hard and give the organization, and the city everything I have,” Cossa said. “(Be) a good teammate, every day. I support my teammates out there and I want to win more hockey games.”

Cossa enters the organization determined to take its next step. After Utah’s first postseason appearance in franchise history, in the team’s second season, the Mammoth are looking to make a run in the 2027 Stanley Cup Playoffs. Part of their success will depend on the hard work of Vejmelka and Cossa. However, the netizen has enjoyed growing with this talented group.

“It’s a very talented team,” said Cossa. “It’s a cool little team and like a team my age, it’s a fun thing to grow up on for sure. We obviously had a great year last year and hopefully we can continue to build on that this year.”
