Starter: – MLB Trade Rumors

Going into the second half, four American League teams have 50+ wins (Rays, Yankees, White Sox, Guardians). In the NL Central alone, four teams have reached that point (Brewers, Cubs, Cardinals, Pirates).

1. The MLB schedule is starting again

The regular season resumes tonight when the Phillies take on the Mets in the first game out of the All-Star break. Another 28 teams will play again on Friday. Philadelphia will ship Aaron Nola on the mound. The veteran struggled to a 5.75 ERA. Interim manager Don Mattingly has limited Nola’s usage, usually keeping him around five innings and 85 pitches. A win for the Phillies would tie them in the win column with the division-leading Braves. The Mets will be against it Christian Scott. He entered the break coming off one of his best seasons, shutting out the Royals in five frames.

2. Most of the viewing of the deadline will be live

Our 2026 Trade Deadline Outlook series continues. The NL East is now done by posting a piece on the Nationals last night. We are officially done with the team split. The landing page for the thread can be found here. It is updated as each update is published. Stay tuned and check back for the latest content.

3. New payroll tracker tool

We launched a great feature yesterday. After months of hard work, Payroll Tracker is now live on the site. It’s located under the tools drop-down menu. The tracker is your new source for the most accurate and up-to-date MLB payroll data. In collaboration with Ethan Hullihen, we’ve created the definitive public source of this information, updated three times a week. To find out more about the tool and how to access it, see this post.
