MLB wife leaves both teams furious, NASCAR wife hits the beach and out comes Aaron Rodgers!

It’s a new week, boys and girls. A blank slate. A new beginning. We are halfway through the month. Time flies when you’re … happy?
Yes, of course. Why not? We are having fun. It’s British Open week. We have the Home Run Derby tonight (on Netflix, good luck!). The All-Star game is tomorrow. Did you know that both the Panthers and Cardinals report to training camp a week from Wednesday?
That’s right. It’s not a mistake! The truth.
The bottom line? We’re not cutting corners here. We are flexible. We are fixing it. We grind.
Let’s roll.
Welcome to Monday Nightcaps – where MLB umpire Jen Pawol somehow managed to piss everyone off with one inning on Sunday. Amazing.

What else? I’ve got NASCAR wife Gianna Blaney enjoying some R&R in Turks And Caicos, the Dolphins are already starting the year with a loss in July, and Aaron Rodgers has retired for the (alleged) end of the season.
When Aaron comes out of the dugout, he knows the ball is about to come back. It’s like seeing smoke from the Vatican.
OK, grab some hot dogs and Bush to celebrate National Frank ‘N’ Beans Day, and get ready for Monday’s ‘Cap!
This was not the best inning from Jen Pawol
They really do have a “date” for anything, don’t they? Oh well. If you know more.
For those wondering (and it’s not one of you), the people here NationalDayCalendar.com tell me that this special day kinda-sorta started back in the 1800s:
Baked beans first grew in popularity during the American Civil War and later became one of the first canned foods to hit the market in the 1890s. As a result, they soon became the basis of the western chuckwagon. Although baked beans have a long history, it’s still a mystery when creative chefs first threw franks into the mix.
Our research could not find the creator of the holiday.
There you go! And that concludes our history lesson for the day. And what a useless lesson it was!
Now, let’s start this class with umpire Jen Pawol, who last season became the first female umpire to call a game from behind the plate, and had a terrible time during yesterday’s Blue Jays-Padres tilt:
Aaron Rodgers as he exits his “tour”.
Lord. First, he did not allow the caller to dispute the call, saying that he was too late. That is not true. He was completely within the limits. He wasn’t just looking. Let’s be fair.
Then, he threw someone … for some reason. Again, I’m not sure what happened there. Wild.
Later in the inning, Pawol appeared to call a balk on the pitcher … then bent down and called the pitch a strike? I don’t know if I’ve seen that before.
Listen to the announcers. They are completely confused. I can’t say I blame them.

Look, this isn’t about Jen Pawol being a female referee, so save it. I know that’s what everyone will be singing about here.
“Oh, Zach, you’re only bringing this up because she’s a girl!”
No, I’m not. Stop it.
I’ve blasted referees many times before, and they were all men. I called CB Bucknor bad earlier this year. I wrote about the Royals catcher embarrassing another ump during spring training. Last month, I called out another hotshot who lashed out at A’s manager Mark Kotsay for no reason.
This was one of the worst I’ve ever seen from an MLB umpire, and I had to sit through a decade of Angel Hernandez.
In fact, according to the popular site “UmpScorecards.com,” Jen Pawol was the third worst referee this season with 91.8% accuracy. That is not my opinion. That is true. That’s what the data says.
Male or female. A cat or a dog. Robot or human. I don’t care. If you can upset both teams in the same innings, it looks bad. This was just cruel.
Charles Barkley actually beat someone in golf and is the commissioner of the WNBA, UFC Sophie and USA as stakes.
OK, let’s move on and get into Aaron Rodgers with almost two weeks of training camp left:
Bison, Dolphins & Gianna, oh my!
Yes! Aaron Rodgers is done … regressing … and ready for one last Super Bowl run. Looks like he picked up teammates DK Metcalf, Michael Pittman Jr., Pat Freiermuth, Roman Wilson, Mason Rudolph and Ben Skowronek clear trip this time.
Remember that one time Aaron locked himself in a dark cave for four days thinking about his NFL future? Or that one time he and Danica Patrick went on a mind trip to Peru for some ayahuasca?
This one looks a little soft, if you ask me. Although, it looks like Aaron and DJ have been tearing up arrows between horse riding lessons:
Beautiful. That’s how he builds chemistry heading into what Aaron says will be his final season.
The Steelers report to training camp on July 28. Two weeks from tomorrow. It’s almost GO TIME, folks. Wait a minute!
OK, let’s fast-forward this Monday class to a big Monday night. First? I know this video of a buffalo eating a grandfather was yesterday, but it deserves another look today:
I’ve never seen anything like it. What a scene. What a clip.
My biggest takeaway, though? What does a kid in a MIAMI DOLPHINS jersey look like?
That could be Jarvis Landry’s jersey, or Ryan Fitzpatrick’s. Either one is fine, you ask me. Fitzpatrick is probably the best fit given the situation.
As for the 65-year-old grandfather who was launched into space … he is right! According to reports, he is recovering at a local hospital.
“He was in a lot of pain in his leg, otherwise he was always there, happy, joking,” photographer Mike MacLeod told the New York Times.
What a fanatic. Love this guy. He is now a part of internet history. Whether you like it or not, you will always be an internet meme. I would expect that clip to be used during many Dolphins games this season, and not in a good way.
Man, do I miss football. Can you tell?

OK, that’s it for today. Good job, everyone. Good class. A great way to start the week.
NASCAR wife and former Hooters All-Star Gianna Blaney takes us home. Let’s find out LATER this week.
