I LG C5 OLED is one of our favorite TV shows here at ZDNET, and for good reason. You get OLED’s signature picture quality, VRR support for console games, built-in voice controls, and support for both Dolby Vision HDR and Dolby Atmos surround sound, as well as “brilliant brightness and color,” according to our reviewer.
Currently at Best Buy during the event Black Friday sales in Julyyou can pick up the 65-inch version for 48% off, bringing the price down to $1,399. The auction ends this weekend, and we’re not sure if this deal will still be available.

It may be last year’s model, but the C5 OLED still gives you plenty of reasons to buy (without the discount). An OLED panel uses individually lit pixels to create billions of colors, deep inky blacks, and bright whites. This creates sharper contrast, more accurate colors, and finer details than LED and LCD screens. It also works with built-in sensors that monitor ambient light and automatically adjust the brightness for optimal visibility in any room.
As our reviewer noted, “the C5 has a unique design and futuristic aesthetic,” including “one of the smallest screens I’ve ever seen — at just 0.25 inches.”

The base refresh rate of 120Hz is perfect for live games, and streaming, but can be boosted up to 144Hz with support for both Nvidia G-Sync and AMD FreeSync VRR for console gaming. A dedicated gaming graphics mode also automatically reduces input lag and response times to less than 0.1ms, bringing it on par with purpose-built gaming PC monitors.
You’ll also get premium audio to match your OLED picture, with support for Dolby Atmos surround sound, 2.2CH native audio, and Bluetooth connectivity for custom home audio setup. Pair i LG C5 OLED with an LG-branded soundbar to use the LG Sound Sync feature, which enables the soundbar and TV speakers to work in tandem for fuller, richer sound.

This is one of the best deals I’ve seen on an OLED TV this year, bringing the signature picture quality within reach of many consumers. All for half the price of what it would normally cost. That’s why I gave this deal an Editor’s rating of 5/5.
