Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce got married in front of famous friends at Madison Square Garden – National

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce were married Friday night at Madison Square Garden, where actor Adam Sandler was the surprise master of ceremonies and Stevie Nicks performed to a crowd full of sports and entertainment stars. The intense secrecy surrounding the couple’s marriage was lifted when a marquee outside a Midtown Manhattan venue announced “JUST MARRIED” when the deed was completed.
The couple had no bridesmaids or groomsmen, instead with Swift’s younger brother Austin Swift serving as her best man and Kelce’s older brother and podcast host Jason Kelce as her best man, Swift’s publicist Tree Paine said in an email.
The bride and groom’s dresses came from Christian Dior Haute Couture with designer Jonathan Anderson and custom shoes by Christian Louboutin. She wore Cartier jewelry.
An almost royal wedding
The long-awaited union of sports and music has brought popularity to an area made especially for historic NBA games and bucket-list concerts. The Kansas City Chiefs star and music star got married as fans and onlookers gathered outside in the sweltering heat, eager to be a part of the ceremony, even though the ceremony was completely private.
Starring Bradley Cooper, Zoë Kravitz, Hugh Grant and Ethan Hawke; models Gigi Hadid and Karlie Kloss; comedian Chris Rock; director Steven Spielberg; singer Camila Cabello and writer Jenny Han were among the guests from the world of arts and entertainment. Kelce’s coach Andy Reid and his Chiefs teammates including running back Kareem Hunt were among the sports stars on the field, along with retired NFL star Tom Brady, Seattle Seahawks receiver and recent Super Bowl champion Cooper Kupp, New York Giants receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster and ESPN celebrities Joe Buck and Stephen A. Smith.

In a culture full of celebrity engagements it may be a high-profile celebrity wedding, perhaps only royal unions get the most attention. Holding such an event in a large, iconic venue that sits at the center of the US media universe while keeping all the details private made for a surreal space, but it was a mix of hype and silence unusual for Swift.
A joint event led by Happy Gilmore
An Associated Press camera outside the arena showed a long line of black SUVs dropping off groomsmen in tuxedos and jeans for the night, surrounded by New Yorkers in shorts and Swifties gathered for the event. The rain stopped for a while before the wedding was announced.
There was a complete lack of messages on social media for visitors when they entered the stadium, the phones were turned off.
However, on Saturday, Good Morning America hosts who were invited to the wedding, confirmed that Nicks did and described the venue as “intimate.”
“The closest thing to it was Madison Square Garden. It’s really a garden within a garden, it’s beautiful,” said George Stephanopoulos. “It’s hard to imagine a bigger venue and a wedding with such stars that could feel so personal and intimate.”
Robin Roberts added that Swift and Kelce wrote their own vows.
Weddings have been a regular feature in Swift’s songs since she was young, and her first walk down the aisle at age 36 added to the drama. It was also the first marriage for 36-year-old Kelce, a former Super Bowl star who would have been one of the jock characters on Swift’s early hits.
Sandler, the star of “The Wedding Singer” and many other hit comedies, couldn’t be at the top of anyone’s list to marry the couple, even though he’s still a warm and paternal figure for years. An email announcing the engagement described him as a “friend” of the couple. Kelce was one of several athletes who appeared in “Happy Gilmore 2,” Sandler’s 2025 sequel to one of his best, and Sandler appeared last year on the Kelce brothers’ podcast “New Heights.”

The Swift-Kelce relationship has delighted and intrigued millions around the world – especially Swifties, the pop star’s biggest fan base – since the pair began dating in 2023 after appearing at his Eras Tour concert at the Chiefs stadium.
Excited fans mingled with distraught visitors outside the stadium.
Lori Powers, who lives an hour north of Manhattan and took the train to be near the celebrations, said “Swift’s music is the soundtrack to so many amazing moments in my life. Relationships, friends, like my husband and my kids.”
He stood outside the stadium before the announcement of his marriage to his friend Cecily Hall.
“Just being here and seeing all the energy and excitement, it’s great,” Hall said. “The combination of sports and music makes perfect sense as to why they are at Madison Square Garden today.”
