Best Action Camera Deals I’ve Found (2026): GoPro, Insta360

Action camera it can capture life’s most exciting moments. Whether you need one to strap around your head before you jump into the gap on your next bungee jump, or you want something waterproof so you can watch a video of the kids in the pool, there’s a great option for you. And Prime Day is a great opportunity to get a deal on new camera gear. Below, I’ve rounded up the best action camera deals you can find right now.
If you’re on the hunt for more deals this week, be sure to check out our Best Amazon Prime Day Deals and tune in to our Prime Day liveblog.
Updated Wednesday, June 24: I’ve added new deals on the DJI Mic 3, Osmo Action 5 Pro, and Osmo 360 cameras.
Best deal for 360 cameras
The best camera deal this Prime Day is GoPro’s Max 2 360 camera, which is currently 40 percent off. The GoPro Max 2 (7/10 WIRED Recommends) is my favorite 360 camera. The Max 2’s two 14-mm (35-mm equivalent) lenses each record up to a 1/2.3-inch chip, providing what GoPro calls “True 8K” (10-bit) video. The Max 2’s larger sensors provide sharper, clearer images than other 360 cameras, and you can record 10-bit color to the log for greater flexibility in post-production color grading—a capability you’d be hard-pressed to find on other 360 cameras. Even though editing log images is a lot of work (I get it), GoPro’s natural-looking color rendering in the default color profile is still the best I’ve tested.
Like most GoPros, the Max 2 has three mounting options: folding fingers, three holes, and a magnetic system. This means you can mount the Max 2 almost anywhere. It also has a simple lens cover replacement process. To do it, just turn the lenses with your fingers and open the new ones. You’ll find all the standard GoPro video modes, including HyperSmooth video stabilization, horizon leveling, TimeWarp, and more.
One flaw in the Max 2 is the poor sound quality. The best way to avoid that problem is to pair the camera with a Bluetooth microphone. Also note that if low-light video is on your action camera must-have list, the Insta360 X5 (below) is probably the best bet. For everyone, though, this is the best 360 camera to get—especially at this discounted price.
Best Action Camera for Blogging
The Insta360 Ace Pro 2 (8/10 WIRED Recommends) combines a large Leica lens with an 8K-capable sensor and an active rear screen, which is why it’s my favorite action camera for blogging. 8K video isn’t great for action footage, but the camera is great for slow-motion shots, which you can crop and export to 4K. The standout feature, however, is the rear screen. Some action cameras offer a small front screen for recording selfies, but the entire Ace Pro 2’s large rear screen is there to help you take selfies. The rear screen also makes it easy to shoot from the waist and nail some unusual angles, especially when paired with the Xplorer Grip Pro ($10 off).
