10 cool things Copilot can do in PowerPoint – Computerworld

In the Copilot pane, just type “summarize this presentation.” You can also have Copilot flag key slides that contain important information: “show me the key slides.”

Ask the Copilot to summarize the presentation or mark the key slides.

8. Answer the questions about the presentation

As you review a presentation, especially one you didn’t create and aren’t familiar with, you can have Copilot pull key data points from its slides.

In the Copilot pane, type some informational questions. Examples:

  • What items are available in this deck?
  • What is the proposed budget mentioned here?

If Copilot cannot find a specific answer to the question you ask, it will provide related information from the presentation.

This method can also help you ensure that your presentation covers everything you want. If you ask Copilot about action items in a presentation and it doesn’t get anything, you know you need to add them. (Copilot will probably do it for you based on all the other slides.)

9. It helps you navigate through a large presentation

In the business world, multi-slide presentations are not common, such as financial reports or project documents. Trying to find a specific slide or multiple slides can be difficult. Copilot can help you navigate through such a presentation.

In the Copilot window, tell Copilot to find slides based on a specific topic. Example:

  • I showed the slides about the project timeline.

Copilot will analyze the presentation and respond with a list of links to relevant slides. Click on one of these to jump directly to that slide.

10. Generate speaker notes and/or FAQ

Here’s a great timesaver when you’re getting ready to show your presentation to an audience: Copilot can automatically make suggested speaker notes for you, based on the content of your slides. Example message:

  • Write speaker notes for each slide with one talking point per slide.

In a related feature, Copilot can create a list of frequently asked questions (FAQ) to refer to in your speaker notes or present as a slide show:

  • Write a FAQ for these slides.

Copilot will ask where you want the questions and answers added – as a new slide at the end, integrated into the speaker notes of the relevant slides, or elsewhere of your choice. Select it, and Copilot will generate an FAQ based on the content of your presentation.
