“Jimmy Kimmel Live!” Guest host Ike Barinholtz on Monday made a joke about the death of Sen. Lindsey Graham, RS.C., joked that his sidekick would also give him his heartfelt respect.

“What a crazy weekend,” Barinholtz continued. ‘Mitch McConnell is alive, Lindsey Graham is dead. There are so many opportunities to get Jimmy’s show off the air again. They’ll take it out!”

He appeared to be referring to Kimmel’s suspension after he made a joke about the death of civil rights activist and TPUSA founder Charlie Kirk after he was murdered last year.

“Guillermo, I know you and him, were best friends,” Barinholtz added, appearing to joke that Kimmel’s sidekick Guillermo Rodriguez and Graham were friends. “You’re holding fundraisers for him at Dave & Busters in Charleston. And I know you’ve prepared some heartfelt comments. Do you want to share them with all of America right now?”

“Maybe later. Maybe later. I’ll do it later, yeah, yeah,” Rodriguez said.

“Later. He’s emotional, folks. He’s upset,” Barinholtz joked to the audience.

The comment was first reported by Alex Christy of NewsBusters.

Graham, 71, died Saturday night. An autopsy conducted Sunday suggested that Graham died of aortic dissection due to arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease. The news came as a surprise to Washington, as Graham is one of the body’s most active members and was scheduled to appear on NBC’s “Meet the Press” Sunday morning.

Sen. Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., has been absent from the Senate for weeks following a health scare. On Sunday, hours after Graham’s death, McConnell revealed the details of his nearly month-long hospital stay, saying in a statement, “My doctors confirmed that I did not have any broken bones or a serious stroke. I did not have a heart attack or stroke. I have no abscesses or bleeding.”

After joking about McConnell’s health Monday night, Barinholtz sarcastically commented, “For everything, though, I want to say my best wishes to Senator McConnell. I hope he gets the quality health care that everyone has fought so hard to deny. I’m rooting for you, Mitch!”

Fox News Digital reached out to McConnell’s office for comment but did not immediately receive a response.
