New Warrior Yaxel Lendeborg Says He ‘Hated Steph Curry’

Michigan wing Yaxel Lendeborg went viral on his first day as a Golden State Warrior after his comments about Steph Curry.

When asked about the Warriors legend, the number 11 player told the media, “I’m a big Kyrie. [Irving] a boy. So I hated Steph Curry.”

However, he did not hesitate to follow up by praising the team that defeated the Warriors four times.

“So, now that I’m going to be in the same team as him, to play and actually learn a lot from him, it means a lot,” said Lendeborg. “I met him a few times. He’s a very nice man, a real person. And it will be an honor to be able to see him do what he does in person. So, I’m very happy.”

Steph himself must have seen the words, because he had a sweet response to a post on Lendeborg’s Instagram page.

“Let’s go! Welcome to the Bay! I will work hard to become your new favorite player [laughing emoji],” Curry wrote.

Lendeborg is also excited about playing in the frontcourt with Draymond Green, but he also decided to throw a little shade in the vet’s style.

“I know you’re a Michigan State guy,” Lendeborg said. “I don’t really like that. But I’m very happy to be able to meet him and talk to him in person and learn. Just learn everything I can.”

While Golden State was on the clock for the next pick, they began fielding calls from rival teams interested in trading up.

ESPN caught the exact moment on camera and showed the world Dunleavy in an animated interview with controlling owner Joe Lacob.

GM was humiliated.

“We went into it about the best golf course in San Francisco,” Dunleavy said. “He didn’t agree with me.”

He went on to explain that the discussion had more to do with trading options and Lacob’s concerns about completing the option on time.

“In the end we all agreed to take Yaxel,” Dunleavy said.
