A story about JAY3LLE, Johan Lindeberg’s new line of golf shoes

If you came of age in the pre-Tiger ’90s, there’s a good chance Jesper Parnevik was among the first golfers to enter your consciousness — not so much because of his five PGA Tour wins or three Ryder Cup appearances. The Swede was attracting attention because of him style. To this day, Parnevik’s name still evokes his trademark flip-flop caps and brightly colored ensembles, courtesy of Swedish clothing brand J.Lindeberg, founded in 1996 by its designer, Johan Lindeberg.
Parnevik was the first PGA Tour ambassador for J.Lindeberg, and her appearance helped launch the brand into the stratosphere of golf fashion. Parnevik’s sleek, tailored fabrics and functional fabrics were a stark contrast to the silhouettes of his peers and left an indelible mark on the golf apparel space.
Johan, who started his design career at Diesel in 1990, left J.Lindeberg in 2007, later worked with brands William Rast and BLK DNM – and is still looking for ways to innovate. Earlier this year, Johan launched his latest initiative: a signature luxury golf line called JAY3LLE (pronounced). jayelle).
With JAY3LLE, more than four years in the making, Johnan aims to redefine modern golf apparel – this time, for women. Johan recently moved to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to launch the brand, with Princess Noura bint Faisal Al Saud serving as CEO.
“Throughout my career I’ve worked all over the world, from leather and denim at Diesel and BLK DNM to redefining golf apparel at J.Lindeberg,” Johan said via email. “With JAY3LLE, the desire was to merge those worlds into one life and one personality. It’s a lifestyle vision inspired by the women who have shaped my life as a photographer – my daughter, Blue, and a new generation of confident women.”

The collection includes a variety of items such as knitted cashmere polos, hooded tops, ballet flats, silk scarves, cuffed trousers and a hip-length leather jacket.
“We’re putting JAY3LLE on a continuum of luxury so it can bring fashion and golf together in a whole new way,” said Johan. “This product is very stylish and modern and will appeal to a new generation of golfers. We will start with women but we will also carry menswear. My commitment to building brands has always been community building. The product will be part of the JAY3LLE community.”
Johan’s describes the aesthetic of JAY3LLE’s first collection as “modern lounge” and “desert country club.”
“The modern resort and desert country club is a place where fashion, golf, hospitality, travel, and wellness become one way of life,” he said. “It’s about community and creating a place where women can be completely themselves. You can come in a leather jacket, take it off to play golf, sit for dinner, and meet like-minded people. The resort is a new place to connect. The desert represents freedom, it gives you space to dream, explore, and create something new.”
JAY3LLE’s first collection consists almost entirely of items in black, white, gold and brown. It’s expensive ($300 polos, $500 skirts, etc.), but on purpose, to stand out from what brand representatives believe is a saturated market. Each piece is designed in Riyadh, made in Italy and is intended to be a functional and fluid piece, suitable for both golf and dinner afterwards.
JAY3LLE exists at the intersection of luxury fashion, golf and modern living. Designed for women on the move, the brand redefines golf culture with high fashion, effortless sophistication and a global lifestyle. Combining contemporary design, exceptional quality and relaxed elegance, JAY3LLE creates iconic pieces that move seamlessly from the city to the resort, from the street to everyday life. Golf serves as inspiration, not limitation in creating a new category of luxury where fashion, movement, travel and culture meet.

With the product launch complete, growth is the next goal. Johan hopes to dress up the women on the LPGA Tour, partnering them in the same way he did for players like Parnevik and the stylish Colombian, Camilo Villegas.
“This collection will speak to a new generation of women who move easily between fashion, golf, and leisure,” said Johan. “The JAY3LLE woman writes her own story. She’s fearless enough to go green twice and confident enough to follow her own path. JAY3LLE is more than just a brand; it’s a community, a destination, and a place to belong.”
