A violent and deadly weekend in Chicago has caught the attention of President Donald Trump.
Fox News Digital has confirmed that six people were killed and 39 others were shot in a series of shootings in the Windy City over the weekend.
A mass drive-by shooting in Chicago’s Princeton Park neighborhood left 13 people injured Friday night. Chicago police say an SUV drove into a crowd of people and two suspects opened fire on multiple victims.

“The criminals who were inside the car started shooting at the crowd before fleeing the scene. Many victims had gunshot wounds and were taken to local hospitals,” CPD said.

In an X post in response to the shooting, Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson said:
“I am saddened by the violence in Princeton Park last night. What was supposed to be a night of celebration and community reflection on Juneteenth was marred by a horrific act of violence. My thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their loved ones.”

In a text to Truth Social, President Trump said, “Many murders happening in Chicago. 22 people were shot, at least 4 Dead. Why didn’t Governor Pritzker call me for help. I can make Chicago a safe city IN ONE MONTH, ONE YEAR, it can be one of the safest places!!! DC went from one of the worst cities, to one of the safest cities of the US President”

Trump made the announcement shortly before 9 a.m. Sunday, and on Monday, when police compiled the information, the numbers increased significantly.
Last year, Trump deployed hundreds of troops from the National Guard to Washington, DC, in an effort to stamp out crime in our nation’s capital.
